Objectives

Description

The UCL Institute for Making at UniSA will provide a location for businesses to work together with the brightest research minds and talented students on industry driven problems and market opportunities. This engagement will be supported by business growth experts who understand how to use technical and non-technical innovation to be competitive.

Based at UniSA’s Mawson Lakes campus, the UCL Institute for Making at UniSA will connect strongly with UniSA’s recently launched Future Industries Institute.

The Institute will provide access at a single location to cutting edge technologies such as augmented reality capabilities, nano-fabrication facilities, 3D printers and laser cutters.

Businesses, researchers and students from a variety of disciplinary and sectoral backgrounds will be able to come together to interact, learn and create new products, services and business model concepts.

Innovation often comes at the intersection of disciplines, informed by market challenges and opportunities. The UCL Institute for Making at UniSA – the Makers Institute will provide a place for these interactions to happen and for the product of these interactions to be readily converted into tangible products and services that can be taken up and sold.
