Northern Adelaide Food Park

Project name

Northern Adelaide Food Park

Industry sector

Agriculture, food and beverage

The State Government has provided $7 million to attract anchor tenants to the Northern Adelaide Food Park, approved for development at Edinburgh Parks, and to promote the use of renewable energy and energy storage solutions at the Food Park.

This initiative will help create opportunities and incentives to attract businesses to the Food Park and contribute to carbon neutral and clean green priorities.

Once established the dedicated precinct will enable food and beverage processors, manufacturers and other service related providers to co-locate, and access common infrastructure and services on one site.  It will encourage sharing of information on processes, products and markets, particularly for export purposes.

The Food Park will offer a structured opportunity for national and direct foreign investment.

South Australian food and beverage manufacturers and processors face numerous challenges that constrain their ability to grow and expand their production, processing and sales capacity. Establishing a food park where these organisations can co-locate will have a range of benefits for the industry including:

Northern Adelaide is the ideal location for the food park due to the large number of food and beverage businesses and related service providers already located in the area. Northern Adelaide has excellent transport and logistics infrastructure to enable efficient movement of goods, including from some of South Australia’s main food producing regions such as Virginia, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Adelaide Hills, the Riverland and Murraylands.
