Teaming up to create jobs in Northern Adelaide

With the closing date of Holden’s Elizabeth manufacturing plant just around the corner, now is the time for action in northern Adelaide. Business and government need to work together to support the local economy, find jobs for local jobseekers, and demonstrate confidence in the region’s future prosperity.

All northern Adelaide businesses are encouraged to assist in this effort and there are a number of practical ways in which to do this, such as hiring locally, bringing forward planned investments, and business expansion.

Scout for staff at the Northern Adelaide Jobs Fair
If you are looking to fill current or upcoming job vacancies within your business, the Northern Adelaide Jobs fair is a great opportunity to meet directly with local job seekers, at no cost to your business.

Local businesses are able to book free exhibition space at the jobs fair, and you are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as the event is expected to attract between 2,000 and 4,000 job seekers.

Register to become an exhibitor by contacting Kerryn from Infront Events on 8362 9844 or by emailing Kerryn Aardenburg.

The Jobs Fair will be held Thursday, 21 September from 1.00pm to 7.00pm at the Playford Civic Centre, 10 Playford Blvd, Elizabeth.

New Drive Your Future Job Connect service
Launched earlier this month, the Drive Your Future Job Connect service is helping connect current and former auto workers with the right skills and experience, to the jobs you have available – at no cost to your business.

Automotive workers have a wide range of trade and technical skills as well as personal attributes, such as good communication skills, team work, reliability, attention to detail, problem solving and producing high work standards under pressure, which would be an asset to any business.

The service is being delivered by MAS National, an organisation with extensive experience in connecting employers with suitable job candidates. If you are looking for staff, and are interested in using the Job Connect service, register your details here and a representative from MAS National will be in contact to discuss connecting you with the right job candidates.
