Construction is nearing completion on Northline’s new, state-of-the-art transport and logistics facility at Regency Park. Located adjacent to the Kilburn railyard, the construction of the $23 million facility has created about 100 construction jobs since commencing in July 2016.
Its strategic location will allow Northline to gain direct access from its facility into the railyard alleviating the need for containers to travel by road from Pacific National’s facility to Northline’s new facility. It will also be a Quarantined Approved Premises (QAP), and therefore customs compliant.
Northline Chief Executive Craige Whitton said the new facility’s close proximity to Adelaide’s north-south corridor, which is currently being improved with the construction of the Northern Connector, will also be a major benefit for his business.
“Being based in northern Adelaide allows our operations to have access to key rail and transport hubs, along with being in close proximity to a large number of customers based in the local industrial areas.”
Craige said the significant investment in northern Adelaide underscored Northline’s ongoing commitment to the State as a proud South-Australian-based national company.
“The new facility marks a major milestone in the 34 year history of the company, which started life servicing northern Australia from Adelaide – a route many others thought too difficult at the time.
The new 10,440 square metre under cover facility will incorporate 3500m2 of warehousing space with modern high bay racking, along with a 440 square metre wash bay and container servicing area, and will be able to accommodate B-Double movements.
Established in 1983, Northline is a privately owned and managed Australian business specialising in four major areas of service provision: road and rail freight management services; warehousing and distribution; global freight forwarding and mining, construction, oil & gas logistics.
The new Northline Adelaide transport and logistics facility will be located at Gallipoli Drive, Regency Park and is due to open in late April, 2017.
