Northern company launches new rental venture

Northern Adelaide based company Warrin Mining & Construction Equipment has embarked on a new venture that will help boost investment in northern Adelaide.

Previously only selling and supporting Volvo mining and construction equipment, the venture ‘VRents’ allows business to rent high-quality Volvo excavators, wheel loaders, graders and articulated dump trucks.

Warrin Mining is based at Pooraka, where it employs 17 staff in sales, service and spare parts.

VRents managing director Chris Bradley said the management team of the wholly South Australian owned and operated company, established in 1980, is extremely passionate about South Australia and northern Adelaide.

“This venture came about as we saw a gap in the market for a Volvo equipment rental services in this state,” Chris said.

“The rental service VRents provides will reduce risk for businesses that can use high-quality Volvo equipment without having to buy it outright.

“VRents is also supported by the in depth industry experience of local Volvo trained technicians who meticulously prepare and service the equipment.”

Chris said VRents is hoping to take advantage of the new local participation policy.

“The local participation policy has made a significant difference to the buying patterns of the contractors on major public infrastructure projects in favour of capable, local businesses,” he said.

“We hope to take full advantage of the extra weighting given to northern based businesses when presenting our services for use on major projects. As VRents gains momentum we want to employ even more local workers.”

Chris said “Volvo released a 60 tonne articulated dump truck “perfect” for major civil jobs such as the Northern Connector.
