Northline’s $23 million transport hub creates northern jobs

Northline’s state-of-the-art transport and logistics facility is located at Gallipoli Drive, Regency Park.

Construction of the customs-compliant $23 million facility has created about 100 construction jobs since it began in July 2016.

Established in 1983, Northline is a privately owned and managed Australian business specialising in four major areas of service provision: road and rail freight management services; warehousing and distribution; global freight forwarding; and mining, construction, oil and gas logistics.

Its location next to the Kilburn railyard gives Northline direct access to the railyard eliminating the need for containers to travel by road from Pacific National’s facility to the new facility.

Northline Chief Executive Craige Whitton said the facility’s proximity to Adelaide’s north-south corridor, including the Northern Connector, is a major benefit for his business.

Craige said the significant investment in northern Adelaide underscored the South Australian company’s commitment to the State.

“The facility marks a major milestone in the 34-year history of a company started life serving northern Australia from Adelaide – a route many others thought too difficult at the time,” he said.

The 10,440 sqm under cover facility includes 3500 sqm of warehousing space with high bay racking and a 440 sqm wash bay and container servicing area, and can accommodate B-double vehicles.
